Five people were arrested, including three juveniles, Thursday, Sept. 15, for attempting to break into a home in the 4400 block of Sunrise Drive in Historic Northeast.

A neighbor noticed the suspicious activity shortly after 1 p.m. and called the police, who swiftly responded and arrested the five suspects on the scene.

“It’s kind of cool because they (police department) had an awesome response to a neighbor being vigilant,” said David Remley, local photographer and former Indian Mound Neighborhood Association president. “Neighborhood watching pays off.”

The attempted break-in occurred four houses down from Remley.

“With five people, it’s hard to be discreet,” he said.
