The KCMO Neighborhood and Housing Services Department had announced several temporary changes to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Neighborhood clean-ups are postponed, through April 3. The Semi-annual Northeast Community Cleanup that was scheduled for Saturday, April 4 was still scheduled to move ahead, but after neighborhood leaders discussed the issue, a decision was made to postpone the cleanup until Saturday, June 13.

Additional changes currently in place include:

-Curbside trash collection will continue, but workers will engage in social distancing and keep high sanitation standards.

-Animal Health and Safety employees will respond to calls but will maintain social distancing guidelines.

-The Housing Division will suspend in-home inspections until further notice.

-The Neighborhood and Housing Services Department’s office is temporarily closed to the public, but residents and contractors can still drop off paperwork and invoices at 4400 Blue Parkway.

-Land Bank offices will be closed during the crisis.

A spokesperson was unavailable to respond at the time of publication, but we will follow up when we have more details.
