KANSAS CITY – Officers were dispatched Saturday, June 8, at approximately 9:20 p.m. to the area of 2103 Lexington after receiving numerous calls regarding the sound of gunshots.

According to Kansas City Police, upon arrival, officers found a vehicle parked near the entrance of an apartment complex.

The driver door was open and the victim, Sade Abdi, 28, a black male, was on the ground outside the door suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Abdi showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene by Kansas City Fire Department.

There are no suspects in custody at this time nor suspect information. KCPD is urging anyone with information to call the Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043 or Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
