LTE: Unfair assumptions of youth

The Bunny piece (from March 21) re: gun control was a one sided piece. I understand the purpose of Editorials, but this piece was so unfair.

1. It assumes that teens are easily swayed, and unable to think for themselves.

2. The assertion that people who believe in gun control are just easily swayed and trust all sources of media. It doesn’t take into account that sometimes these positions are based upon logical and independent reasoning.

3. It implies that there is some nefarious organization that is spearheading the gun control effort, which seems to be the NRA’s playbook.

Rather than lambasting the serious issue of school shootings, perhaps talking or interviewing those individuals who participate in this movement would be more productive and a clearer definition of independent journalism.
