Lora Lee (Debbie) Lathrope, 80 of Forsyth, MO died on March 31, 2020, in Forsyth, MO.  Lora was born on Sunday, November 12, 1939, in Swan, MO, to Ernest S. and Rosa M (Crum) Lathrope.   Lora attended Taney County elementary schools at North Lone Star, Swan, and Taneyville  before moving to Kansas City, MO, where she finished Jr. High and attended Northeast High School where she graduated in 1958.

After graduation Lora worked at Jones Stores, Macy’s, Montgomery Ward, Gilbert Robinson and MO DMV in Kansas City.  
Lora Lee was a devout Catholic and attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Northeast Kansas City.  Following Baptism and Confirmation she took Debra as her confirmation name but preferred to be called Debbie,  as she was already known to family and friends.  Debbie was an active member of Holy Cross Parish where she served in the Ladies Circle and enjoyed helping with the annual St. Joseph’s Table.

She enjoyed traveling and visiting family near her childhood home in Taney County, MO.  An annual tradition that she looked forward to was attending the Homecoming at Lone Star Church of God, the church of her childhood.    Due to failing health she moved back to Taney County  in October, 2019,  to be closer to family members.  

Lora Lee was preceded in death by her father, Ernest S. Lathrope, her mother, Rosa M. Miller,  and one sister, Roena Mae Lathrope, Fraternal Grandparents, Henry L. Lathrop & Elizabeth Ann (Teters) Lathrope and Maternal Grandparents, Edward Crum and Elsie Estella (Bashaw) Crum.

Due to COVID-19 a graveside service will be held at a later date at Chadwick Cemetery, Chadwick MO.
