KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, as KCMO voters decide on five ballot questions – including three questions which comprise an $800 million General Obligation bond package.

Question 1 would set aside $600 million for streets, bridges and a citywide sidewalk repair program; Question 2 would earmark $150 million for flood control, while unlocking hundreds of millions of dollars worth of federal funding; Questions 3 would include $50 million for City buildings, funds which would be put towards construction of a new animal shelter and the renovation and restoration of the Kansas City Museum.

Question 4 of on the ballot is a 10-year, 1/8-cent KCMO Economic Development sales tax for the city’s East side, consisting of an area from 9th Street on the north, Gregory on the south, The Paseo on the west, and Indiana Avenue on the east. The fifth and final question on the April 4 ballot considers the reduction of penalties for the possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. If Question 5 passes, the fine for possessing less than 35 grams of marijuana would be reduced to $25, and the possibility of jail time for the offense would be eliminated.

Voters may present several different forms of ID to vote, including a driver’s license; Local, State, or Federally issued ID; Missouri higher education ID; Local election authority issued ID; or even a current bank statement, utility bill, paycheck, or any government document containing the voter’s name and address.
