West faces charged of Robbery in the 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon after allegedly robbing a 55-year-old man waiting at a bus stop with a 10 inch knife.

According to the Probable Cause Statement, the victim called police to the intersection of Independence and Norton, where he told the responding officers that he’d been robbed by a black female with red hair, a lime green shirt, and shorts. He also told officers that the suspect wielded a 10″ knife during the robbery.

In conducting an area canvass, officers found Candance West matching the suspect’s description in a nearby alley behind Independence Avenue. A search of West’s purse uncovered a beige rock-like substance, which was later determined to be cocaine. Officers also recovered a large gray knife.

After waiving her Miranda rights, West denied committing the robbery, although she admitted to knowingly possessing a controlled substance and carrying a concealed knife in her purse.
