KATHRYN T. VALENTI

Kathryn T. Valenti, 85 years old, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018, at NorthCare Hospice House surrounded by her family. Kathryn was born on March 5, 1932, to Frank and Lena Anello Cherrito. She was the winner of the American Tribune Beauty Contest in December

Kathryn was born on March 5, 1932, to Frank and Lena (Anello) Cherrito. She was the winner of the American Tribune Beauty Contest in December of 1946 and graduated from Glennon High School in 1949. Kathryn married Anthony E. Valenti on January 6, 1950. They were lifelong residents of Kansas City, and lived in Columbus Park for the last 46 years. Kathryn and Anthony have been parishioners of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Choir and volunteered for the St. Joseph’s Table. She retired from the Kansas City Election Board. She enjoyed being a member of the American Daughters of Columbus, the Fatima Choir, and also volunteered at the annual Boy Scout Troop 80 Chili Dinner. Her love of music, flowers, angels, butterflies, animals, and homemade breakfast was known by all those who were lucky enough to spend time with her. Above all else, her dedication to and love of her family brought her abundant joy.

Kathryn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Anthony E. Valenti, and many extended family members.
