KANSAS CITY -Kansas City Police Department responded to the first homicide of 2019 late Wednesday evening.

Officers were dispatched to Truman Medical Center just before 10pm on a medical call. An adult male had allegedly been stabbed and was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

The victim, Tony Carmons, 60, of Kansas City, Missouri, later died of his injuries.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the original disturbance at an apartment in the 2100 block of E. 10th Street.

Domestic violence has been cited as an issue in this case.

A person of interest has been identified and KCPD Officers are searching for that individual this morning.
