Baby Giraffe — Masai, a giraffe calf, was born on Aug. 4 and already weighs 145 pounds. Submitted by KC Zoo

Jackson County and Clay County residents will receive free admission to the Kansas City Zoo this Saturday, Aug. 25.

The free admission is a way to say “thank you” to area residents for funding the zoo’s Zoological Tax District. Attendees are asked to bring a photo I.D. with their address for free admission.

Current zoo attractions include Masai, a giraffe calf born Aug. 4, the newly renovated Sumatran Tiger Exhibit, the Symphony in Flight bird show and more.
