J. Rieger & Co. recently announced the addition of Chef Marita Swift as the new culinary director. Swift will oversee culinary operations for the distillery’s full-service bar and lounge spaces, as well as special events.
Swift was recently the executive chef at Californos in Kansas City and has years of experience curating menus for more than a thousand weddings, conducted coursework in the culinary arts, and has been featured on several live cooking segments.
She plans to leverage her local knowledge to showcase regional ingredients with a focus on shareable plates that complement the cocktail experience.
A few of the menu items will include cheese and charcuterie boards with ten varieties of cheese and meat, a summer salad that includes avocado, peaches, gorgonzola, bacon, spring greens, and buttermilk garlic dressing, a pesto panini served on ciabatta bread, a Riegers club with turkey, ham, bacon, aioli, dijon mustard, heirloom tomatoes and served on toasted sourdough, and lemon custard and double chocolate cake for dessert.
J. Rieger & Co. is scheduled to open July 12, 2019 in the old Heim Brewery bottling house on Guinotte Ave.
