KANSAS CITY, Missouri – This past week the Christian Missionary Alliance had their national conference here in Kansas City. Roughly 1,500 teenagers from church congregations all over the world converged on Bartle Hall to learn more about being a missionary in the 21st century. As part of that event, more than 150 youth volunteers descended on a number of Kansas City parks in the urban core, including Penn Valley Park, Sheffield Park and the Cliff Drive Scenic Byway.

The Cliff Drive volunteers all met at The Concourse to clear invasive honeysuckle from the side of the road. Another busload of volunteers traveled to Sheffield Park at 12th and Winchester to address maintenance issues and clear brush. Officers from the Kansas City MO Police Department also helped with the clean-up efforts.
