Homicide, Thompson and Spruce Avenues

For the third time in less than one week, a homicide has occurred in Historic Northeast, this time near the intersection of Thompson and Spruce Avenues.

At 8:45 pm Monday night neighbors reported hearing gunfire in the 400 block of spruce. Officers responded to the area and located a victim in the front yard of a house nearby.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died. Crime scene investigators are on the scene looking for clues as to what led up to the shooting. They will also be looking to see if any residents had cameras that may have captured any of the events.

If anyone heard or saw anything or has any information that may help detectives, they are asked to call the Homicide Unit directly at 234-5043 or the Tips hotline anonymously at 474-TIPS A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to an arrest in this case.
