Streetcar is comin’. You can almost hear it rollin’ down the Avenue now. What does it sound like?

Like a vacuum, that’s what. This newshound is none too pleased about the prospect, either. Before one inch of track is laid, millions will have already been paid to consultants, engineers, architects and anyone else associated with this train wreck of an idea, pardon the pun.

Take a good look at the boundaries of the newly formed Transportation Development District and it becomes patently obvious that some Kansas City residents are more “equal” than others and will have the privilege of paying the new tax. The suburbs on the other hand, despite being inside the city limits, look to be exempt from not only the voting but also the tax!

Clearly, some city residents are more equal than others. This fiscally conservative newshound wonders how quick the “for sale” signs will start poppin’ up when this run-away taxing scheme begins to hit home. Infrastructure repairs be damned. We’re gonna get us a streetcar! And for what? To get from the City Market to the 7-11 at Independence and Benton? Slurpee anyone?
