Debris that trashed the 2600 block of Independence Avenue is gone at last.

The old Vista Theatre/Villa Capri building, 2609 Independence Ave., burned down toward the beginning of May and sat in rubble for most of the summer.

Last week, construction crews were spotted cleaning up the pile of rubble.

On Aug. 3, the old Vista Theatre and Villa Capri clean-up was finished and a vacant lot now takes its place.
