Getting in and out of Northeast will be a headache again this weekend.

MoDOT officials announced Wednesday morning that both directions of I-29/35 will be reduced to one lane again this weekend for pavement work between 16th Street in North Kansas City and the north end of the Bond Bridge. Coupled with the Chouteau Trafficway closure that extends through July, uncongested routes to the Northland will be limited to the Heart of America and Broadway bridges.

This weekend’s closure on I-29/35 will begin on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and last through 5 a.m. Sunday morning. Crews will be replacing temporary pavement in both the north and southbound lanes at the north end of the bridge as well as making repairs to the southbound lanes that span the railroad yards south of 16th Street in NKC.
