Double Homicide near Independence Ave. & Elmwood

Just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue on a sound of shots call.

Upon arrival officers observed several people outside the residence who indicated that there were two individuals inside that needed help.

Officers entered the house and discovered two white male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS personnel responded and declared both individuals deceased. The investigation is ongoing. There is no suspect information at this time.

If anyone has any information or saw anything out of the ordinary in this area they are asked to call the Homicide Unit directly at 234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS.

This occurred near Independence Avenue which has a lot of foot and vehicle traffic so it is possible someone may have seen something. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
