KANSAS CITY, Missouri — As part of the city’s new plan to eliminate blight and revitalize Kansas City neighborhoods, city officials have developed the Dollar Home Sale.

The Dollar Home Sale will help to eliminate blight in Kansas City’s neighborhoods by rehabilitating or demolishing dangerous buildings. Open house events are taking place beginning this week and will showcase several of the most popular homes available as part of the Dollar Home Sale. For a complete list of open house event times and locations, visit www.kcmolandbank.org and click $ House Viewing Schedule.

The homes on the dangerous buildings list will be available for purchase for $1, under the requirement that the homeowner will rehabilitate within one year, and occupy the home for three years. The City of Kansas City is offering an $8,500 rebate to homeowners who complete the purchase requirements. Information on purchase requirements, and other frequently asked questions can be found online at kcmo.gov/neighborhoods/dollar-home-sale/.
