The Kansas City Missouri School District on Saturday cut the ribbon on two brand new Middle Schools, ushering in a new era for mid level students in the KCPS. While both schools, Central and Northeast have been in the District for decades, both have recently undergone extensive renovation to meet the unique academic needs of middle school age students. According to Lead Principal Dr. Cynthia Johnson who oversaw the projects, both schools are designed to equip students with 21st century skills and align skills with the Association for Middle Level Education recommendations. Currently both schools house only 7th graders and will be at their full enrollment of 7th, 8th and 9th graders starting in the 2015-2016 school term.
