April 22: Earth Day Mural Reveal from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Back Door Pottery at 3922 St. John Ave. Music will be provided by Scott Hobart and Beau Bledsoe. Eleos Coffee Truck will be on site, and free hotdogs will be available for roasting around the fire pit.

April 22: Northeast High School Families are invited to the Football Field Event from 4-6 p.m. to sign up for career mentors, summer school, classes for the 2021-2022 school year, fall sports, parent involvement committee, high school band. April 23: An Anti-Prostitution & Sex Trafficking Press Conference will begin at 9 a.m. at Christine’s Place, sponsored by NEAT, the Northeast Chamber of Commerce, The Independence Avenue CID and The Northeast News. The event will feature a new, anti-prostitution initiative on the Avenue and the debut of a new website dedicated to quelling the illegal sex trade in the community.

April 25: Art Garden KC, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. every Sunday, located at Lexington and Brooklyn avenues in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood. Locally produced art pieces in a variety of mediums by the artists of Pendleton Arts Block and Northeast.


April 27: Northeast Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, 11:45 a.m. via Zoom or in person at the Northeast Chamber offices at 2657 Independence Blvd. Guest Speaker Michael Bushnell, Publisher of The Northeast News will speak on the paper’s recent national media attention after publishing a blank front page. Lunch $25/plate

May 2: Plant Sale Fundraiser at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd. Various spring flowers and vegetables will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cash only.
