Karol Ann Fountain

CAMERON, Missouri – Karol Ann Fountain, 71, Cameron, Mo., slipped the bonds of this earth and went to walk in heaven with her Jesus she so dearly loved on Sept. 24, 2014.

Karol was born on April 12, 1943, in Los Angeles, Calif., but she was a resident of the Historic Northeast for over 50 years. In 1961, Karol graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Mo.

She married her sweetheart, E.W. Fountain on June 7, 1963, in Kansas City, Mo. Karol was a PTA member and an active Women’s Missionary Union member, as well as a member of the Democratic Club. Karol was a dedicated member mother and taught Primary Sunday School at IABC in Kansas City, Mo., and volunteered for many church committees and mission projects. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cameron. Karol was a dedicated youth sports parent and thoroughly enjoyed her years as scorekeeper for three and two baseball.

Karol retired from her job as office manager at a doctor’s office, which enabled her to care for her grandchildren who adored her.

Karol was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marvelle (Bodfield) Jones.

She is survived by her loving husband, E.W. Fountain, of the home; her daughter, Lee Ann (Charles) Luna, Grain Valley, Mo.; her son, Eric (Abbey) Fountain, Kansas City, Mo.; twin sister, Karen (Jim) Brady-Toadvine, Elkhart, Kan.; sister, Donna Lappin, Jacksonville, Fla., and sister, Billie Houser, Olive Branch, Miss.; her grandchildren, Ashleigh Nicole Luna and Nick Charles Luna of Grain Valley, Mo.; and many loved nieces and nephews.

The warmth of Karol’s radiant smile, her positive attitude and gentle heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Cameron. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery, Cameron. Memorial donations can be made to the Cameron Food Pantry. Online condolences:
