John “Chief” Korzinowski

John Edward “Chief” Korzinowski, 89, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 25, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Mass of Christian Burial was also held. Cremation followed the services. Arrangements are by Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, Kansas City, Mo.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Oct. 26, at Northland Abundant Life Church, 7700 Church Rd., Kansas City, MO 64158.

Chief was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., to Adam and Amelia Rose Korzinowski. He worked as a brewmaster for Muehlebach and

Schlitz Breweries. He was preceded in death by his parents and his

brother, Frank Korzinowski.

Survivors include his sisters, Helen Rieke and Rosemary Schmidt; hundreds of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends; and his beloved companion, Katrina Oldenburg, and her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to “Boy’s Town – in Nebraska” (www.boystown.org), the Charities of Kansas City (www.catholiccharities-kcsj.org/) or any area food pantry, soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
