KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A Kansas City man has been charged with domestic assault following a stabbing that took place in the Historic Northeast earlier this week.

According to a press release from Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker’s office, Roberto Alatorre-Munoz, 31, has been charged with first-degree domestic assault, a class A felony, and armed criminal action, a felony.

According to court records, police responded to a call along the 300 block of Brighton Avenue on Wednesday, March 16, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, the victim, a woman, told police that Alatorre-Munoz stabbed her many times and cut her throat. She said he had become jealous over her relationships with other people and he cut her neck with a knife and continued to stab her. Earlier in the week, Alatorre-Munoz allegedly punched the victim and put a knife to her neck.

The victim told police Alatorre-Munoz might try hide at a house in Kansas City, Kan. The Kansas City Kansas Police were soon contacted and Alatorre-Munoz was eventually apprehended. Prosecutors have requested a bond of $150,000.
