KC Museum’s Family Fun Day
Join the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., for its First Sunday Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m.  September’s theme is printmaking. Families can experiment with Gyotaku fish printing, discover  Batik printing, make flower rubbing collages and more. Cost is free.

Sunday Family Movie
Check out North-East Public Library’s Sunday Family Movie at the library at 2 p.m. This week’s movie is “Joyful Noise.”

The Wimpy Club
Come and celebrate your favorite book series at 5 p.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Eight to 12-year-olds are invited to join. Activities will include reading from the book, acting out scenes, crafts and playing games. The club meets the 1st Tuesday of the month.

Scarrritt Renaissance Monthly Meeting
Due to the Labor Day holiday, the Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association will not meet on Sept. 3. Instead, it will host its monthly meeting on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum.

NEKC Taste and Tour
The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host the NEKC Taste and Tour 2012 Sept. 8 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The Taste and Tour will be held at the American Sons of Columbus Hall, 2415 Independence Ave., and will feature delectable samples from about 20 Historic Northeast restaurants. In addition, a tour bus will take attendees around Northeast to show off gems like the Kansas City Museum, historic homes and more. The night will also include a performance by the Swingsters, the Grand Marquis Band, a cash bar, silent auction, raffle and 50/50 drawing. Hard Hat Happy Hour
Explore Kansas City Museum’s more than 100-year-old mansion home, Corinthian Hall, with a glass of wine during Kansas City Museum’s Hard Hat Happy Hour on Sept. 6. You’ll see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, examine 100-year-old craftsmanship and listen to museum staff relay future plans for the mansion. Cost is $5. Attendees must be at least 21 to attend. Tour will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Kansas City Police Department will host a front porch roll call in Spanish at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at La Flor de Chiapas Mexican Restaurant, 3253 Independence Ave. This is an opportunity to meet the officers that patrol your neighborhood, express concerns and ask questions.

Walk and Talk Tours
