Thursday, May 2

Teen Game Night
Join in the fun at the Northeast Library the first Thursday of every month to play board and video games. They will have a PS4, Xbox 260, and a WiiU to play with! This event will be held Thursday, May 2nd from 5pm to 6:30pm and is appropriate for ages 12-18.

 

Bilingual Playgroup and Open Play
Start at Zero is hosting bilingual playgroup and open play at the 555 Olive Center. Playgroup will be held from 10am to 12pm and open play is from 1pm to 5pm. If you’d like to bring your child to play, stop by the Success by 6 Center during this time! They have toys, activities and fun during open play time.

 

Friday, May 3

Northeast Storytime
The Northeast Library holds storytime every Friday at 11am. This week’s storytime is Friday, May 3rd at 6000 Wilson Rd in the Children’s area. They will have singing, dancing, stories, and fun activities. This event is perfect for ages 0-5.

 

Saturday, May 4

Northeast Neighborhood Cleanup Day
The Northeast Alliance Together (NEAT) organizes two semi-annual cleanups each year. The next cleanup has been scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019. If you would like to help clean up your neighborhood, contact your neighborhood association to find out what you can do to help!

 

Tuesday, May 7

National Mural Day Celebration
Join the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Northeast News, and the community in celebrating National Mural Day. Historic Northeast has 25+ amazing murals painted by local artists. We will have a video tour of Northeast murals along with a self-guided mural tour map. This event will be held Tuesday, May 7th from 6pm to 8pm at 2807 Independence Blvd (Mayfair Cleaners parking lot).

Chalk Walk
Join the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and community members for Chalk Walk! This family-friendly event is open for kids of all ages. Join in the chalk art fun and vote on sketches for this year’s Summer of Murals project! Chalk Walk will be held May 19th and 19th ant Concourse Park.
