Teen Advisory Group
Are you interested in making a difference at your library? Do you enjoy planning events and talking to other teens your age? Then this is the opportunity for you! Join the Teen Advisory Group and make the library a better, more fun place for teens like you! This event is appropriate for ages 12-18. This event will be held at the Northeast Library (6000 Wilson Rd) from 5pm to 6:30pm.

 

Friday, April 19

Third Fridays
Join in every third Friday from 4-9 pm as the Northeast Chamber of Commerce gathers unique pop-up shops, fashion masterminds as well a featured artist every month, all with a Northeast KC flair! They’ll have drinks and music to mingle – so hang out, meet some cool people and spend some time in Northeast! This event will be held Friday, April 19th at 2657 Independence Avenue.

 

Saturday, April 20

Easter Extravaganza
Join in on the Easter fun with an Easter Candy Hunt! There will be prizes of 20 Easter baskets, and two boy’s and two girl’s bikes. There will be live music, carnival games, bouncy house, horse rides, free hotdogs, drinks, popcorn and more. This event will be Saturday, April 20th from 11am to 4pm at Lykins Park (East 8th St and Myrtle Avenue).

 

Pendleton Heights Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter Egg Hunt will be going on Saturday, April 20th at 10am in Kessler Park (St. John and Park Avenues).

 

Mattie Rhodes Easter Games
The Mattie Rhodes Center invites you to the Easter games Saturday, April 20th from 10am to 2pm at Budd Park. Join in for a wonderful time playing soccer and other lawn games. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early. Wear your favorite soccer jersey and be ready to play! Free for all ages.

 

Scarritt Easter Egg Hunt
Free egg hunt for toddlers to 12-year-olds at Concourse Park from 10am to 12pm. There will be prizes and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Bring your own basket.

KC Opportunity Zones with Rep. Emanuel Cleaver
Established as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the Federal government established the Opportunity Zones program. This program offers tax incentives for investing in low-income communities. Fifth District Congressman Emanuel Cleaver will provide an overview of five Opportunity Zones in Kansas City, tax incentives and for investors, eligible projects, application process and take questions. Opportunity Zones are a powerful new tool, attendees will learn how to participate in the program and improve their communities. This event will be held Monday, April 22 from 10:45 am to 12pm at The Northeast Chamber of Commerce (2657 Independence Avenue).

Community Luncheon

Richard knows how to position your brand to drive conversions. This luncheon will be held Tuesday, April 23 at the Northeast Chamber of Commerce from 11:45am to 1pm.
