Teen Advisory Group
Are you interested in making a difference at your library? Do you enjoy planning events and talking to other teens your age? Then this is the opportunity for you! Join the Teen Advisory Group and make the library a better, more fun place for teens like you! This event is happening Thursday, March 21 from 5pm to 6:30 pm at the Northeast Library (6000 Wilson Rd). This event is appropriate for teens ages 12-18.

 

Friday, March 22

Northeast Storytime
Join in at the North-East Library for singing, dancing, stories and fun activities that activate your little one’s brain! Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers (Ages 0-5). Storytime will be held Friday, March 22nd from 11am to 12pm at 6000 Wilson Rd in the Children’s Area.

 

Monday, March 25

Healthy Living Challenge: Stay Strong Stay Healthy
The Northeast Library is having a Healthy Living Challenge Monday, March 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Participatns will learn 8 simple exercises designed to improve daily living. These moves will build strength, improve your balance, and your health. Everyone starts at a level that’s right for them! Adults over 55 are encouraged to join. Every Monday and Wednesday!

 

Tuesday, March 26

Community Luncheon
Join the the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce at our monthly Community Luncheon. This event will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM at 2657 Independence Avenue, KCMO 64124. This month’s speaker is Joe Lieberman, a professional consultant, coach, speaker and author specializing in business improvement, leadership, management and sales. He is a successful entrepreneur in multiple industries, and the author of the “Dragons & Enemies” series on self-aware leadership. Questions and discussion are encouraged. Mayor Sly James’ 2019 State of the City Address
Join Mayor Sly James to reflect on the past eight years of our city’s development and look forward to Kansas City’s next chapter. This event will be held Tuesday, March 26th at Rockhurst University (5351 Forest Avenue, KCMO, 64110) from 4pm to 6pm.

Coffee on the Corridor
Join local residents and neighborhood leaders at the monthly “Coffee on the Corridor” at the offices of the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (NEKCCoC) and the Independence Avenue Community Improvement District (IA CID) located at 2657 Independence Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64124 on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Join community members over coffee and donuts for a monthly ‘Meet & Greet.’

Experiencing KC Opportunity Zones
Participants will learn about the benefits of utilizing Opportunity Zone incentives applied to residential and commercial development projects with Northeast Kansas City and other urban Kansas City locations. Economic development staff from Representative Cleaver’s Office and other KC professionals will lead this interactive discussion.This event will take place April 10th from 10am to 12pm at the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (2657 Independence Avenue).
