Teen Advisory Group
Are you interested in making a difference at your library? Do you enjoy planning events and talking to other teens your age? Then this is the opportunity for you! Join the Teen Advisory Group on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Northeast Branch and make the library a better, more fun place for teens like you! This event is for teens age 12-18.

 

BikeKC Plan Update
Join the discussion to learn more about the final draft of the updated BikeKC Master Plan. This event will be held Thursday, February 21st from 6 pm to 8 pm at Gregg/Klice Community Center at 1600 John “Buck” O’Neil Way.

Printmaking Crafternoon
Come to the library for an afternoon of printmaking fun! Design abstract tile stamps from wood and foam to make unique prints. Make your own design and patterns or share your stamp with others to create a unique collage. They will also be collaborating by stamping designs onto a large sheet of paper that will be on display in the children’s area of the library. This activity is suitable for young people ages 5-18. Adults and caregivers with children are welcome to join in on the crafting. Please wear clothing that can get messy or bring something to cover clothing. This event will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Northeast library.

Farewell to the Cape
Kansas City Superman’s Farewell to the Cape Family Fun Run/Walk is in honor of Kansas City native Michael Wheeler. Wheeler is an International marathon runner who used running through the streets of Kansas City to help heal, minister, and pray for the city of Kansas City. Join residents around Kansas City help Mr. Wheeler say farewell to his Superman Cape. Mr. Wheeler has been an advocate to stop the violence and praying for peace for not only Kansas City but also our Nation and for ‘World Peace’. This event will be held Saturday, February 23rd. The event will begin at 9am at the National WWI Museum and end at the KC Superman Mural located at 4140 Broadway.

CID Community Luncheon
Join the the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce at the monthly Community Luncheon as staff from Costco discuss the benefits of becoming a member of their Wholesale Club. Become part of the Costco family and learn more about their many benefits, including Club Membership, a Cash Card, and their 2% Annual Rewards Program, to name a few! Questions and discussion at the luncheon are encouraged! See you there! This event will be held Tuesday, February 26th at 11:45am at the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, located at 2657 Independence Avenue.
