Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra
The American Jazz Museum presents the Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra Thursday, Dec. 27 at Blue Room Jazz Club (1600 E 18th St). The event is free and open to the public. The Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra is the premier Salsa & Latin Jazz ensemble in the Kansas City region. Navigating the universe of Afro-Latin music under the influence of jazz, Pablo Sanhueza has 15 years of dedication to the uplifting of Latin American culture in the Heartland. A Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra concert is always a high energy and timeless experience for intercultural audiences.

Have you always wanted to try different snacks from around the world? Join the taste testing of snacks and drinks from various countries Friday, Dec. 28 from 2pm to 4pm at the North-East Public Library (6000 Wilson Rd. Space is limited, so be sure to show up early. Kwanzaa: Ujima
The American Jazz Museum, in partnership with the National Black United Front- KC, presents the 37th Annual City-Wide Kwanzaa celebration! Celebrate Kwanzaa in the Gem Theater featuring a dance performance by Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. Panelists include Leon Dixon – WEB DuBois Learning Center, Donta Goodwin – Teach for America, Catina Taylor – Dreams, Jahna Riley – KC Girls Preparatory Academy. The Moderator will be Tyron Gethers – The Source of the Inkwell 98.5 LPFM

Build a Gingerbread Town
The Kansas City Public Library will be hosting gingerbread house building event for ages 9-18 at the North-East Public Library. Come create your favorite Northeast locations out of graham crackers, icing and candy! The event will be held Jan. 4, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm. Stop by and help build gingerbread houses!
