ESL Class
Join the North-East Public Library (6000 Wilson Rd.) at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to learn basic English skills: reading, writing, and conversation. No fee or books required.

 

Thursday, November 29

KCFD Memorial Service
It’s been 30 years since six Kansas City, Missouri, firefighters lost their lives at a construction site east of I-49 at 87th and Blue River Road. But the memory of these emergency responders lives on as KCFD holds a memorial service to honor Pumper 30 and Pumper 41. This ceremony is being held on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. and the public is invited to join Kansas City Fire Department and city officials, along with the families and friends of the fallen, who will gather to pay tribute to those who rushed into danger on this tragic morning.

 

Kansas City Airport Committee Meeting
The KC Airport Committee will meet Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 9:45 AM on the 26th Floor, Council Chamber, at City Hall (414 E 12th St) to discuss updates on the new KCI Airport Terminal.

 

Friday, November 30

KC Streetcar Holiday Jam
Live music on the KC Streetcar in partnership with 90.9 The Bridge. Friday, November 30 AJ Young will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of Visit KC’s Downtown Dazzle. Visit Union Station and Crown Center to see the Christmas decor and take a festive ride on the free streetcar. Find more info at downtowndazzle.com.

 

Saturday, December 1

Pendleton Heights Holiday Homes Tour
Visit the Holiday Homes Tour and Artist Market on Saturday, December 1 from 12 to 5 p.m. The tour showcases 6 Victorian homes next to urban-style newer homes around the Community Orchard at Lexington and Montgall. Food trucks will gather around the orchard and an artist market will be at 555 Olive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door and benefit Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association.

 

KC Streetcar Holiday Jam
Live music on the KC Streetcar in partnership with 90.9 The Bridge. Saturday, December 1st, The Center State performs from 12-2pm, Ayllu perfroms 1-3pm, and Cowtown Country Club from 3-5pm as part of Visit KC’s Downtown Dazzle. Visit Union Station and Crown Center to see the Christmas decor and take a festive ride on the free streetcar. Find more info at downtowndazzle.com.

Kansas City Museum Fairy Princess 2018
Come visit the fabulous Fairy Princess at the museum annex at 800 Broadway in Downtown Kansas City while Corinthian Hall is under construction. This event will be held December 7, 8 & 9, as well as December 14, 15 &16. Tickets are $10 per child and includes a small gift, sweet treat, and one printed photo. Tickets can be purchased at kansascitymuseum.org.
