ESL Conversation Group
The Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library will host an ESL Conversation Group on Wednesday, October 10, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In class you will learn basic English skills: grammar, listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, and conversation. Mattie Rhodes Center health clinic
The Northeast location of the Mattie Rhodes Center (148 N. Topping) opens its evening health clinic, named La Clinica, every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. No appointments needed, but care is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Drop in tech coach
The North-East branch of the Kansas City Public Library will bring in a tech coach to assist the public on Thursday, October 18, from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Get answers to questions about Microsoft Word and Excel; the internet; email, formatting a resume and online applications; syncing your smart phone, and so much more.

KCPD Trunk-Or-Treat
The East Patrol Division is hosting a Trunk-Or-Treat at the East Patrol Station (2640 Prospect) on Friday, October 26 from 7-9 p.m.

 

Chair Fitness
The North-East Public Library Branch (6000 Wilson Rd.) will host a chair fitness class on Friday, October 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. No matter what your limitations, you can still reap the physical, mental and emotional benefits of exercise. This class is designed to offer a total body workout. Cardio, stength and flexibility exercises are all performed from a seated position.

KCPD Trunk-Or-Treat
The Metro Patrol Division is hosting a Trunk-Or-Treat at the Metro Patrol Station (7601 Prospect) from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.

 

Indian Mound and Lykins – Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch
The Indian Mound and Lykins Neighborhood Associations will host a Fall Festival and Pumpking Patch on October 27 from 2-4 p.m. Free pumpkins, cider and donuts, ZooMobile, kids’ activities and pony rides will make for a day of fall fun at Indian Mound Park.

Story time at Central Library
Come out to the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Tuesday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for story time. Join the library every Tuesday for stories, songs, and plenty of time for play. The library encourages patrons to talk, sing, read, write and play every day, but Tuesdays are special because parking is free!

“Scare-it” Halloween
Join the Scarritt Neighborhood on October 31 for Trick-or-Treating, a Haunted House and other spooky surprises. The event starts at the Kansas City Museum and continues down Mersington Street.

 

Kansas City Tweed Ride
A vintage, family-friendly bike ride through the Historic Northeast. All proceeds benefit BikeWalkKC’s education programs. The event starts at 10:AM at the Colonnade. Register at bikewalkkc.org/tweed.

 

Cliffhanger 5K & 10K
