Kansas City Museum Hard Hat Happy Hour

Explore Kansas City Museum’s 100-plus-year-old mansion home, Corinthian Hall, with a glass of wine from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. You’ll see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades. Examine 100-year-old craftsmanship and hear first-hand about plans for the grand mansion’s future from museum staff. Cost is $5. Tour members must be 21 to attend and wear closed-toe shoes.

Getting Back 2 Better!

This Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop is open to all adults and free of charge. It would be beneficial if you have been diagnosed with a chronic disease, are living with someone, or are taking care of someone who has a chronic disease. Learn how to manage symptoms, eat healthier, communicate more effectively, sleep better, develop a healthier lifestyle and deal with stress, fear and anxiety. This workshop will start on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., and will run for six Thursdays through Dec.19 (except Thanksgiving). Wimpy Kid Club

Attention all fans of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid! North-East Public Library will host a book club at the library at 5 p.m. Youngsters ages 8 to 11 will read from the book, act out scenes, create crafts and play games.

KC Job Fair

Aim4Peace along with Baker University will host a job and resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Brush Creek Community Center, 3801 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. There will be a free resume writing workshop at 9 a.m. This free event will have employers on-site ready to hire area residents to fill open positions in marketing, maintenance, food industry and educational fields. More than 10 schools, including Baker University, Metropolitan Community College and the Kansas City Art Institute, will be present to speak with prospective students about enrollment, programs and degree paths.
