NE Historical Society membership meeting
The Northeast Kansas City Historical Society will host its quarterly membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 517 S. Kensington.  There will be a presentation about the history of the church founded in 1891 and tours of the building that was completed in 1905.  All are welcome to attend. For more, visit nekchs.com.

North-East Public Library will host a game day for adults beginning at 10 a.m. at the library.

Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members. This week’s theme is Mother’s Day.

Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Flub

KC Design Center Open House
The Kansas City Design Center will host an open house May 16 at 5:30 p.m. at 1018 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, Mo. This will be the community’s chance to see the final results of the center’s year-long study of the Northeast.

Million Dollar Movie
Check out North-East Public Library’s “Million Dollar Movie” on May 16 at 10 a.m. at the library, 6000 Wilson Rd. Each month the library presents some of the best in classic cinema for your viewing enjoyment, all for free.

Director’s Hard Hat Tour
Take an extended hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family, with Kansas City Museum Director Christopher Leitch. Visitors will see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades. Tour will be held at 3 pm. and cost is $5.

In the Pink of the Evening Summer Concert Series
Northeast Arts KC’s In the Pink of the Evening Summer Concert Series will kick off Saturday, May 18, at The Colonnade at The Concourse from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Featured artist will be Zanzibar, a tribal and rhythmic drumming group. The Hamberguesa Loca food truck will also be on site. The concert is free of charge and the concert series will be held on the third Saturday of every month through August.

Walk & Talk Tour of 18th and Vine St.
Discover Kansas City’s jazz history during the Kansas City Museum’s Walk & Talk Tour of 18th and Vine St. on May 19 at 2 p.m. Cost is $8 and tour will be led by Community Curator Glenn North. Meet at Gregg/Klice Community Center, 1600 John “Buck” O’Neil Way, Kansas City, Mo. Bottled water is included.
