Calvary Temple Block Party
Calvary Temple, 5612 St. John Ave., Kansas City, Mo., will host a block party from noon to 4 p.m. which will include live music, a grocery giveaway, free food, inflatables and more. All are invited to attend this free event.

 

Mini Health Fair at North-East Library
A mini health fair will be held at North-East Public Library beginning at noon. Truman Medical Centers will be on site to provide health screenings and information on living a healthy lifestyle.

 

Scarritt Coffee Club Monthly  Gathering
Scarritt Coffee Club will be celebrating its one-year anniversary and all are invited to attend. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Gladstone Manor, 412 Gladstone Blvd. Bob Brand, who’s performed with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, will perform and give a short presentation. A tour of the bed and breakfast will follow the presentation. Please bring a savory or sweet breakfast hors d’oeuvre to share. Coffee will be catered by Eleos Coffee. Moving Kansas City Forward
A community meeting sponsored by the Kansas City Federation of Teachers, Jobs with Justice and More2 will be held to discuss the Kansas City Public Schools system and how to improve education for Kansas City’s children. The sponsors plan to create an action plan from the feedback to take to KCPS officials and host subsequent meetings. The first meeting will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center, 4201 E. 63rd St., Kansas City, Mo. Light refreshments will be served. Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner
Join American Sons and Daughters of Columbus Hall, 2415 Independence Ave., Kansas City, Mo., for a spaghetti and meatball dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 years old and younger. Salad and dessert is included and carryout is available.

 

Winter Reading Program Party
Join North-East Public Library at 2 p.m. to celebrate the completion of the Winter Reading Program “While the City Sleeps.” There will be food and prize drawings. The party is for participants in the reading program.

Mattie Rhodes Community Center will host the Gatsby Gala fundraiser on April 20 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Loose Mansion, 101 E. Armour Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Kurdish Community Celebration
A Cultural Celebration of Kansas City’s Kurdish Community will be held at the North-East Public Library on April 20, beginning at 1 p.m. The event will include traditional and contemporary Kurdish poetry, music, dance and an introduction to Kurdish literature, culture and history. Following the presentations, there will be samples of a variety of Kurdish cuisine. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.

 

Taco Dinner Fundraiser
St. Anthony Parish will host a taco dinner fundraiser April 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Anthony Parish Hall, 318 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Tickets are $5. Pop and water will be available for $1 each.

 

Bingo at Don Bosco Senior Center
Glennon Place Nursing Center will sponsor an afternoon of bingo and prizes from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Don Bosco Senior Center, 580 Campbell St., Kansas City, Mo.

 

6th Annual Chalk Walk in Northeast
