Two of the crew members inform the press about what to expect during the flight. They added not to be shy about asking for an oxygen mask if we were to feel woozy. Thankfully, no one needed it and no one became ill.

Northeast News got a first-hand look at what it takes to jump from an airplane at a 12,500-foot altitude on Friday, Aug. 19. The U.S. Army Golden Knights paratroopers gave the press a special preview of the Kansas City Air Show which will be held this weekend Aug. 20-21 at the Kansas City Downtown Wheeler Airport.

Gates will open to the public at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to avoid heavy traffic and to find a seat close to the action. Tickets cost $30 at the gate for adults and for those 15 years old and younger, admission is free. Flying starts at 11:30 a.m. and will include the U.S. Army Parachute Demonstration team, The Golden Knights, United States Air Force Academy Glider Demonstration Team, the Trojan Phlyers, the United States  Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt, and other teams.

Other activities will include the Rise Above Traveling Exhibit that features the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, a Lego Construction Experience Tour, concession stands and more. Check out the activities before the gates close at 5 p.m.
