Fit and Healthy. Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping, hosts A+ Healthy Child Day Oct. 11 to promote   leading healthy lifestyles. Activities included a kids’ dance contest, face painting, Zumba, health screenings, chalk art and entertainment provided by Clown Zapaton. Zapaton centered his performance around physical fitness. A number of area organizations, like Score 1 For Health, Head Start, the American Heart Association and others also attended. Two-year-old Daniel Borjas of Historic Northeast shows off his dancing skills during the dance contest. Borjas danced away with first place. Smoothie goodness. Students in Mattie Rhodes’ Health and Wellness Program serve up smoothies for A+ Healthy Child Day attendees. Mi Pueblito restaurant in Belton provided healthy samples of chips and guacamole and marinated chicken kabobs with grilled vegetables.
