In addition to picture-view postcards that show scenes from cities and towns across America, there used to be millions of cards created especially for holidays throughout the year. One of the most prevalent publishers of holiday cards was Raphael Tuck & Sons of Paris, France.

Tuck postcards are still highly revered in the secondary postcard market for their high quality and unique greetings.

This week’s card was sent to Ernest Julien of Rural Route 1, Amsterdam, Mo. The message reads, “Hello. I am going to answer your card. Did not get to have a Christmas card. I wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. From Raye.”

From all of us here at the Northeast News, we wish a prosperous and happy 2013 to our readers, advertisers, neighbors and friends.
