These photos and video were taken on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 22, on the site of the old Sheffield Steel Mill where the Blue River crosses under Independence Avenue. The water is lapping at the underside of the old rail bridge, and is roughly 4 feet from the top of the concrete flood control channel. The high water is a result of powerful storms that began late in the night on Monday, August 21.
