KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Brothers Michael and Matt Rich, 16 and 19 respectively, were joined by 13-year-old friend Josue Tijerina on Monday, October 17 to be honored by the Jackson County Legislature for their heroic acts during a flash flood on the night of Friday, August 26.

That night, the Northeast residents pulled several individuals out of vehicles stalled in high water near an underpass by the intersection of Truman and Askew.

A recording was taken by Matt and Michael’s mother Jeanette Herron during the ceremony at the Jackson County Courthouse.
