KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Students from Gladstone Elementary School were caught in an act of kindness this morning, walking down Hardesty Avenue near Budd Park passing out Blessing Bags.

The project is part of Gladstone Elementary’s ongoing community engagement, which teaches students how to be more involved in their communities. A blessing bag is a gallon zip bag filled with essential items for homeless or indigent people. According to KCPD Officer Greg Smith, who was escorting the students, the bags will be handed out by students to anyone they meet who looks like they need a helping hand. When all is said and done, the students will have walked an almost 2.5 mile circle and interacted with over 100 homeless or less fortunate people.
