KANSAS CITY, Missouri – It’s another busy weekend here in the Northeast, and there’s no shortage of events to keep you and your family occupied. Check out the list below to see what might be a good fit for you:

Magination: Mobile Art Lab – Saturday, September 17 at the Kansas City Museum (3218 Gladstone):

The Kansas City Museum will host the Magination: Mobile Art Lab on Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Magination is pop-up mobile art laboratory of creative hands-on activities and experiments that engage young minds in a practice of imagination through site-specific materials. Each day, there will be hands-on activities where participants make something to take home. This free event is split into two sessions: kites will be the focus of session one (10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) and boats will be the focus of session two (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.). New Kansas City Museum Exhibit opens on Saturday, September 17 – Passing Me By: Snapshots of Northeast, 1996 – 2016:

This exhibit will be easy to check out for those already planning to go to the museum for Magination: Mobile Art Lab. Passing Me By: Snapshots of Northeast, 1996 to 2016 will be displayed at the Kansas City Museum from September 17 to October 15. Through film and digital mediums, Bryan Atkinson seeks to present a vibrant portrait of Kansas City’s Historic Northeast community.

Brooklyn Avenue Street Fair (400 & 500 block of Brooklyn Ave.) on Saturday, September 17:

The Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association will host the Brooklyn Avenue Street Fair on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet your neighbors while enjoying music, games, international food, and fun. The association asks that you please leave pets at home. Alcohol is not permitted.

Movie Night in Budd Park on Saturday, September 17:

The Northeast Community Days series continues on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a movie night at Budd Park (180 Hardesty). A screening of the movie The Sandlot will be shown at the shelter in the middle of the park. Food will be provided, but make sure to bring a blanket and some drinks to help you enjoy the final Community Days event of the year.

Northeast Arts KC SummerDusk Series on Saturday, September 17:

The Northeast Arts KC SummerDusk concert series, held at the Colonnade at St. John and Benton, will conclude for the season on Saturday, September 17, with Mediterranean and Central American folk music performed by Ensemble Iberica. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. This is a free, family-friendly concert, though a donation jar will be available for those who wish to donate.

Knights of Columbus breakfast at St. Anthony’s (3218 Lexington) on Sunday, September 18:

On Sunday, the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Glennon Council #4613 will host a traditional breakfast at St. Anthony’s – St. Joseph Hall (3218 Lexington). Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Coffee and orange juice is included. Cost is $5.50 for adults, and $3 for children under 12.
