Call for Artists for Chalk Walk in the Historic NE

Northeast Arts KC is still looking for artists to participate in Chalk Walk in the Historic Northeast, set to begin on Saturday, April 23. Go to northeastartskc.org to register. In addition, tent space is available for organizations that preregister.

Pueblo to Pueblo

Join the Kansas City Museum for its latest exhibit, Pueblo to Pueblo: The Legacy of Southwest Indian Pottery and Now & Then. The exhibit runs from now until June 25 in Corinthian Hall and is free to view. This workshop would benefit you if you have been diagnosed with a chronic disease, are living with someone with a chronic disease, or taking care of someone with a chronic disease.

Great flood of 1993 exhibit set for St. Joseph Museums

Come out to St. Joseph’s Wyeth-Tootle Mansion (1100 Charles Street, 64501) to see a new display about 1993’s 500-year flood. “Confluence: The Great Flood of 1993” opens on Friday, April 15, and will run through 2018. The exhibit will explore the causes and provide a social history of the 1993 flood through videos and photographs. SHAKES-perience Heart of America Shakespeare Festival

Celebrate Shakespeare from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, with a hands-on workshop at the North-East branch of the Kansas City Public Library (6000 Wilson Rd., KCMO, 64123). Immerse yourself in Shakespeare’s texts, analyze themes, learn theater acting techniques, and even study the art of stage combat at this event. Knights of Columbus breakfast

Enjoy breakfast with the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, April 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Church (St. Joseph Hall, 3208 Lexington, 64124). The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12. Breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy over biscuits, and chorizo will be served until noon, along with coffee and orange juice.

Budgeting: The Money Diet

Learn tips to help manage your finances at the North-East Public Library (6000 Wilson Rd.) on Tuesday, April 19, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Learn how to set attainable financial goals and find ways to implement day-to-day strategies to save money. Attendees will receive a $30 fine reduction coupon from the North-East Library. Coupons can be applied towards lost/damaged fees in addition to fines.

Chalk Walk in the Historic Northeast

The 9th annual Chalk Walk in the Historic Northeast event, put on by Northeast Arts KC, will take place on April 23 and April 24, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at The Concourse Fountain at Kessler Park (200 Benton Blvd.). This free event will feature a picnic, the Stone Lion Puppets, a DJ, and free books from the NE Library.

Spring Clean-up

This year’s Spring Clean-up in the Concourse (Benton Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64123) is slated for Saturday, April 30th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This clean-up is for KCMO residents only. Trash, yard waste, and bulky items will be collected, and old tires can be disposed of. Household hazardous waste items such as paint, lawn and garden chemicals, auto fluids, cleaners, pesticides, and batteries can also be brought free of charge to 4704 Deramus, KCMO, 64120.
