Central Bank of Kansas City has once again partnered with a number of area agencies to sponsor Money Smart Month in Kansas City. Sarah Cousineau, Chief Marketing Officer of Central Bank noted that there are a number of activities coming up in Historic Northeast designed to assist area families with developing good financial habits. “Being financially savvy is more than just budgeting and balancing the checkbook” said Cousineau. “We want to insure families are, to coin a phrase, money smart in all their financial activities”

While activites last throughout the month of April, here are some loca educational sessions taking place right here in Historic Northeast.

Don Bosco Senior Center

Tuesday, April 19, 10:30 AM – Reverse Mortgages – Learn how reverse mortgages work, the financial and tax implications, costs and payment options. CHES, Inc. will be presenting the session on this topic that they requested.

Wednesday, April 20, 12:30 PM – Avoiding Scams and Preventing Identity Theft – Find out about recent scams, how to avoid them and how to protect your identity.

Friday, April 22, 10:30-11:30AM– Benefits of Banking – Learn about safe banking for seniors, benefits of banking and tips on finding a reliable financial caregiver.

St. Mark’s Child and Family Developmental Center

Friday, April 8th – 2-3pm – Learn about the top personal finance apps for 2016: Discover apps that will make saving and budgeting EASY.

Tuesday, April 26th 6-7:30pm – Family Game night – Fun games and activities for the whole family- including free dinner, prizes & more.

Teach Children to Save lessons: 3 classrooms at Wendell-Phillips Elementary, 2 classrooms at Garfield Elementary and 4 classrooms at Academie de Ninos.
