KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Details are beginning to emerge on last Saturday’s homicide near the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue that took the life of Thomas E. Kuzila.

Police indicate that the incident may have started near the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Prospect Avenue when Kuzila, 52,  a Union Pipefitter who lived in Sugar Creek, found himself in an unfavorable situation when he was approached by two suspects. He was then brought to the alley off St. John and Brooklyn Avenues where he was shot and killed. The suspects then stole Kuzila’s truck, a late model Ford F-250 Harley Davidson edition.

Detectives have since recovered the truck. The investigation is ongoing. One witness has come forward and authorities are seeking two suspects in the case.
