The Kansas City Museum on Friday night hosted a gala reception to celebrate the Museum’s 75th anniversary and to launch the new exhibit: My Kansas City, the heritage and legacy of Kansas City’s Northeast community. The gala event, attended by over 250 people featured live music by noted Jazz musician Dave Stevens and his band as well as an appearance by Kansas City Mayor Sly James. Joining Mayor Sly James at Friday nights gala at the Kansas City Museum were local Grocers Pam and John Lipari. Left: Museum, exhibit benefactor and Historic Northeast native John Herbst displays his Kansas City Museum memorial plate hand crafted by local artist Irma Starr. Other honorees included local Historian Dory DeAngelo, former Kansas City Museum Musette Georgette Page, Katrina Henke whose parents Bob and Connie Waldrop were active with the museum for many years.
