Northeast News
October 14, 2015
This newsdog had a stellar weekend and kicked it all off with the posh gala affair at the Kansas City Museum in celebration of their 75th year. Parks and Rec staff, along with Museum staffers, pulled out all the stops to create a first class event to usher in what promises to be a banner year at Corinthian Hall. A number of people were honored for their contributions to the museum over the years including Dory DeAngelo, a local historian who was born and raised in the Historic Northeast.

This news writing canine also wants to give props to Mayor Sly James. Not only did the mayor show up, but he stood on the grand staircase of the museum and delivered an inspirational stump speech promising what sounded like a sizable level of support for KCM for the foreseeable future. Calling the Museum a “priceless and historic gem” and a “huge asset to the city,” the mayor was, as always, a huge cheerleader for Kansas City. This pooch isn’t going to find one bit of fault for that and is just going to leave it at this.

Thank you Mr. Mayor for coming to one of Kansas City’s most historic neighborhoods and recognizing the momentum that is driving the museum, and the community at large. We, as a community, appreciate your presence and hope you’ll be back soon. This dog has been pretty critical of the mayor recently, but in this case, we got nothing but props. Good on ya Mr. Mayor.
