KANSAS CITY, Missouri — An area walk-a-thon could impact traffic just as your weekend is about to begin.

The Walk-A-Thon for Literacy begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until noon, Friday, July 17. The walk will impact traffic along Olive, 22nd, and 27th Streets, as well as Brooklyn and Prospect Avenues. The walk-a-thon is hosted by Freedom School scholars, parents and volunteers to advocate literacy for children.
