Beers, bikes and barbecue. Last weekend, the Kansas City Microbrews and BBQ festival, along with the Tour of Kansas City Cliff Drive Classic Circuit Race and 5K run took over the Northeast. Many cyclists were able to show off their talent and had fun doing it. Venessa Curtis, who traveled from the University of Iowa, won first place in the woman’s 1/2/3 bike race. She thanked her team for the win.

“It’s a team thing. There were four girls from Iowa so it was like we all won,” Curtis stated. As a companion event, the Kansas City Museum hosted Microbrew & BBQ Festival. Eight area craft breweries offered free samples to thirsty ticketholders and two BBQ food trucks, including The Local Pig, offered delicious BBQ to feast on.
