Book of Revelation explained

For 12 weeks, from Wednesday, March 18, to Wednesday, June 3, Dr. George Westlake Jr., Pastor Emeritus of the Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Road, will be teaching the book of Revelations during Family night at the center. The classes run from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and feature services and programs for every member of the family.

Divining the Museum: Visions of Past, Present, and Future

The Kansas City Museum’s new, temporary exhibition features Kansas City artists and students of the Kansas City Art Institute curated by Max Adrian and Paige Beltowski. This exhibition showcases contemporary artwork including installations, sculpture, ceramics, and photography alongside original objects from the Museum’s collection. Exhibition tours are free and will be available on the hour from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 7-30, and Wednesday-Saturday, June 3-13. Please note that the last tour starts at 3:00 p.m.

Serengeti Steve at the North-East Library

Join North-East Public Library at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, for a performance from Serengeti Steve. Serengeti Steve performs over 600 shows a year throughout the country and has been featured as a Las Vegas finalist on NBC’s hit show “America’s Got Talent.” His talents have even earned him a place in the famous “Guinness Book of World Records.” Although Steve’s love of all animals is high on the list, his first love and driving force will always be entertaining the children and adults attending his performances. Steve’s greatest asset is his ability to combine a thrilling yet comical presentation which involves audience participation.

Northeast Farmer’s Market Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Northeast Farmer’s Market will be open Thursdays from June 4 to October 1, at the corner of Independence Avenue and Gladstone Boulevard. Ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 3:50 p.m. The market is open from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Learn about navigating your computer in this class, which offers insight into hardware and software components. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the North-East Public Library.

Truman Health Fair

Join the North-East Library at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, for the Truman Medical Center hosted health fair. There will be a variety of booths to visit providing information on a healthy lifestyle.

Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Meeting

Join the Kansas City Museum for its next concert, with a performance by Whiskey for the Lady, from 7 – 9 p.m. Friday, June 12. Whiskey for the Lady is a melting pot of eclectic styles and wildly opposite personalities that attract a diverse audience from punk rockers to old-time bluegrass-lovers. This foot stoopin’ “newgrass” includes Phil on mandolin and lead vocals; Animal on bass; Mallory on fiddle; Ricky D on banjo; Frank on guitar, and Ike G on percussion.
