KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Tyler Sutton, the problem child that plagued the South Gladstone area of the Scarritt Renaissance neighborhood, was arrested Wednesday morning.

Sutton is in federal custody awaiting arraignment Wednesday afternoon on a laundry list of charges that include conspiracy, counterfeit security possession, aggravated identity theft, bank fraud and possession of stolen mail. Prosecutors have requested no bond.

Leslie Caplan, Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association president, was elated with the news.

“This is all due to the vigilance of our residents and the team effort we employed with the officers at East Patrol” Caplan said. “This is great news for Scarritt Renaissance.”

Sutton rented a home in the 400 block of Gladstone Boulevard and was well known to, not only police officers, but also to area drug dealers and prostitutes as a place to go for whatever fix they needed. The house was shuttered by police last fall and still sits vacant. It is owned by an absentee landlord who lives in the Los Angeles. Sutton was taken in to custody at his attorney’s office in the Brookside area.
